Settings Dialog

The settings dialog provides the project-wide definitions such as the desired language or operational mode. The settings togehter with the families are part of the SOFiSTiK Content Pack.

Tip

The “Import...” Button allows you to load a content package (dialog settings + families) into your project.

Tab General

The General tab provides user-specific adjustments for the automatic tagging tools Tag All and Tag Missing.

Annotation Type Definition and Dimension Styles

An annotation type means a rebar tag combined with a dimension line. Other than the Single Tag which has a leader instead of the dimension line. The automatic tagging tools differs, regarding quantity of rebars in a rebar set, the following annotation types:

  • Single Tag
  • Short Annotation
  • Long Annotation

The same rebar tag family will be used for all three annotation types which you set on the rebar tab. You can set an individual dimension line family for short- and for long annotations.

Annotation Distances

The annotation distances provides distance settings for the automatic tagging tools. For example you need more or less space between the annotation types depending on the output volume of the rebar tag.

Tab Rebar

In the Rebar tab you can set the annotation families for rebar sets which are used by the automatic tagging tools Tag All and Tag Missing.

Annotation Families

In the operational mode “Bar marks per sheet” you can set a separate tag family for rebar of another sheet.

Annotation Settings

Use the checkbox to decide if still existing rebar tags which has been placed by the command “Hide and Tag Rebars” will be moved outside the element or not.

With the setting of the limit angle between the path of a rebar set and the view plane you can decide up to which angle the tagging commands will be use dimension lines.

Tab Rebar Detail

In the Rebar Detail tab you can set the annotation families for the detailing tools Rebar Shape Detail, Bar End and Detail Layer.

Tab Fabric

In the Fabric tab you can set the annotation families and the symbol family for wire meshes, which are used by the automatic tagging tools Tag All and Tag Missing.

Annotation Families

In the operational mode “Bar marks per sheet” you can set an additional tag family for wire meshes of another sheet.

Symbol

You can set an annotation symbol family which represents the wire meshes in front views of floors, walls and foundation slabs.

Tab Fabric (Section)

In the Fabric (Section) tab you can set the annotation families and the symbol family for wire meshes in sections, which are used by the automatic tagging tools Tag All and Tag Missing.

Annotation Families

In the operational mode “Bar marks per sheet” you can set an additional tag family for wire meshes of another sheet.

Note

Wire meshes in sections will be annotated with a single tag for each visible mesh in the view.

Tab Schedule

In the Schedule tab, users can set the calculation method for the bar length and the output volume for reinforcement schedules. (see command Create Schedule).

_images/mpic_SettingsTab_Schedule.png

Calculation method of bar lengths

Specify whether the bar length (cut length) shall be calculated on the basis of outside dimension (Method A) or the centerline (Method B).

_images/mpic_Setting_BarLength.png

Additionally to the Revit reinforcement rounding (to the nearest) you can decide that the bar length will be always rounded up. This option works only if the Revit reinforcement rounding is turned on and uses the same tolerance which you have set for the bar length.

Tip

You can check the calculated bar length on the properties palette with the parameter “SOFiSTiK_Bar_Length”.

Note

Reinforcement rounding changes comes into effect after restarting the Set Marks tool.

Output

Choose the output volume for reinforcement schedules if additionally to the steel schedule a shape schedule and cutlist for wiremeshes will be created or not.

Tab Miscellaneous

In the Miscellaneous tab, you can set the program language for the ribbon bar and the dialogs of SOFiSTiK Reinforcement Detailing.

Set Bar Marks

Choose how many (minimum) digits the command Set Marks will be use (e.g. 1, 01, 001).

Template File

Shows the template file which contains the required user- and runtime content.

Note

The language change comes into effect after restarting Revit.
