Dear Colleagues

we cordially invite you to the free Workshop

"Challenges using the Finite Element Method in Bridge Analysis & Design"

Date: May 24th 2010, 9 am till 12 am

Venue: Taj Mahal Hotel, New Delhi, India

Speakers: Dipl.Ing. Christof Lorenz, Dipl.Ing. M.Sc. Stefan Maly (SOFiSTiK Germany)

Finite Element software is a standard tool for todays bridge designers. The workshop will reflect on the various challenges a bridge engineer has to face using programs of this type:

  • (Re-)Defining Parametric Geometry
  • Model Approach – Beam, Shell, Volume, Hybrid
  • Construction Stages, Creep & Shrinkage
  • Loading – Influence Lines
  • Design Checks & Postprocessing
  • Project Example by SPECTRUM Techno Consultants Pvt. Ltd.

Workshop attendees will get a better understanding of how a Finite Element Program has to be applied in order to achieve manageable and reliable results. He will be sensibilised for the possibilities, but also for the constraints of such programs.

Online-Registration >>

The workshop is limited to 35 participants. Admission will be on a first come first serve basis. Registrants will also get a 15% discount on the admission fee to the Bridges India Conference, May 25th/26th at the same venue!
