Content and Customizing

Overall, the target of SOFiSTiK Reinforcement Detailing is to ensure that everything related to content and appearance is customizable to meet different markets and company standards.

Warning

Any changes to the content requires careful planning and management and should only be done by the Revit administrator or CAD/BIM managers of the organization. The software will not work without valid content.

Content Pack

The SOFiSTiK Content Pack contains all required families for “SOFiSTiK Reinforcement Detailing” stored in a Revit project template file (rte). The reference to a valid content pack is required to run SOFiSTiK Reinforcement Detailing, because the contained families will be loaded and used automatically from the program tools.

The following two content packs are supplied together with the software:

  • SOFiSTiK_Content_DACH
  • SOFiSTiK_Content_UK

Load a Content Pack

You can either choose a content pack at the start of a new project or load a content pack into your desired template.

  1. Open a new project or project template (e.g. MyProject.rvt or MyCompany.rte).
  2. Depending of a valid content pack already exists, do one of the following:
  • Confirm the message dialog “No Content Found!” with OK.

You can check the referenced content pack on the Miscellaneous tab in the settings dialog.

Note

Please make sure that the indicated path and file name to the content pack keeps valid.

Runtime Content

The runtime families are part of the content pack and will be loaded by the corresponding tools individually. These families neither are visible in the settings dialog nor it’s allowed to change their names.

The runtime families and can be accessed in each of the supplied SOFiSTiK content packs in the following sub folder of the content directory:

Project Templates

It is recommended to use a SOFiSTiK reinforcement project template as the entire supplied content is already integrated. Additionally, a wire mesh catalog and different reinforcement view filters are included as well.

The project templates can be accessed in the following sub folder of the content directory:

..\Content\Reinforcement\User\MyCountry

Rebar Shape Catalog

The supplied bending shape catalog is a set of Revit families containing the standard rebar shapes. These families can also separately be loaded into the project as required. The bending shape catalog can be accessed in the following sub folder of the content directory:
