Installation of BIM Apps (Autodesk App Store)

In general terms, you prepare your system, choose installation options, install the product, and launch it.

Note

The SOFiSTiK BIM products Analysis + Design, SOFiCAD Data-Exchange as well as the Rhinoceros Interface are part of the correponding products SOFiSTiK-FEA and SOFiCAD and are not available in the Autodesk App Store.

Installation

Make sure you have read Getting Ready and Autodesk App Store.

Now, follow the steps to install your SOFiSTiK BIM Product:

  1. Exit Revit.
  2. Open the SOFiSTiK Publisher Page at the Autodesk App Store in a browser.

  1. Click Sign In in the upper right corner, and sign into your Autodesk account.
  2. Choose your desired SOFiSTiK BIM Product to go to the product page.
  3. Select the blue button with the text “Free”, “Trial” or a price for the app.
  4. This should start the download.
  5. After the download has completed, open the directory where the file is located in Windows Explroer and double-click the file to start the installation process.

When you start Revit, your SOFiSTiK BIM product is available inbetween the tabs Manage and Modify.

Activation

Follow the appropriate link to activate your new installed software.

Updates

Follow these steps to update your SOFiSTiK BIM Product:

  1. If not already done, check if I you are using the latest program version.
  2. Exit Revit.
  3. Open the SOFiSTiK Publisher Page at the Autodesk App Store in a browser.
  4. Click Sign In in the upper right corner, and sign into your Autodesk account.
  5. Choose a SOFiSTiK BIM Product to go to the product page.
  6. Simply click on the blue button that says “Free” or “Download” to start the download.
  7. After the download completes, double-click the file to start the update process.

Note

Please use the download link in the app descrition in case the App Store button shows “Your trial has expired”. This is a known issues in case you’re using a Wibu/CodeMeter license directly from SOFiSTiK.

Is An Update Available?

Follow these steps to check if there is an update available for your SOFiSTiK BIM App.

  1. Open the Autodesk App Store in a browser.
  2. Click Sign In in the upper right corner, and sign into your Autodesk account.
  3. Click the drop-down with your Account Name in the upper right corner and select My Downloads.
  4. Check the Status of your app.

Note

It may happen that your installed version was downloaded from a different account. I this case you have to compare the version number at the product page in the App Store with the version number in the Log File of your software.
