Shape Detail

The Shape Detail tool creates a dimensioned sketch (Revit detail family) of a rebar- or fabric shape and places it together with a tag in the view. Depending on the family type the rebar shape detail represents either the selected partial set or all instances of the total mark. For this reason the Set Marks tool must have already been executed.

Tip

Before starting make sure that in Detail Tab from Settings Dialog you have chose the desired family for representation

  1. Activate the view where you want to place shape details.

  2. Do one of the following:

  • Select a rebar or fabric (or the tag) to create a shape detail > Click Reinforcement tab > Tag and Detail panel > icon_ShapeDetail (Shape Detail).

  • Click Reinforcement tab > Tag and Detail panel > icon_ShapeDetail (Shape Detail) > Select a rebar or fabric (or the tag) to create a shape detail.

  1. Click to place the Shape Detail (SHIFT activates Ortho-Mode).

Use the Ortho-Mode to place the detail orthogonally aligned to the selected rebar. Otherwise the insertion point will be at the lower left corner of the shape detail.

Tip

You can turn the bend diameter symbol on and off, with parameter Show_BendDiameter in the properties palette of the detail family.
