SOFiSTiK Reinforcement Generation automatically generates a 3D rebar model from computed analysis and design results in the Autodesk® Revit® Structure environment. This 3D rebar model shall serve as an automatically generated recommendation which fulfills the required reinforcement and which can be modified and further refined by the user. The software is not oriented to create reinforcement with a predefined configuration, in these cases other means can be used to accelerate the modelling process such as the Revit Extensions.

Design requirements from construction codes and company standards can be controlled by user-defined rules similar to the approach used in expert systems. Visualization of existing and required reinforcement further support users to ensure their quality of work.

SOFiSTiK Reinforcement Generation reads analysis results directly from the SOFiSTiK database (.cdb) as well as from Revit Results Packages.

Getting Started

With the following video tutorial you will get to know the basic tools and workflow of SOFiSTiK Reinforcement Generation.


The video has been recorded with the earlier Labs version of “SOFiSTiK Reinforcement Generation”.


After installation of SOFiSTiK Reinforcement Generation, the ribbon panel “Reinforcement Generation” in the ribbon tab “SOFiSTiK Reinforcement” will appear.


The ribbon tabs may already exist, in case one of the apps “SOFiSTiK FEA Extension” and/or “SOFiSTiK Reinforcement Detailing” are already installed.



Holding the cursor over a tool on the ribbon a tooltip is displayed. The tooltip provides a brief description of the tool. While the tooltip is visible, you can press F1 to open the help file that gives more information.
