TOOLTIP To insert a standard steel profile.
Summary

Using this command, a standard steel profile is inserted into the current cross section. The reference point which is defined in the dialog is used for the insertion point in the cross section.

After leaving the dialog by clicking OK, the insertion point of the steel profil has to be defined.

The reference point of a steel profile (see dialog of steel profile) determines which point within the profile should be used for the insertion point. The reference point can be used to define geometric references e.g. using variables.

Note

In order to generate an assembled steel profile, it is recommended to use the possibilities of the input ‘Symmetric options’ of the dialog standard steel profile. Steel profiles can be mirrored (without deleting of the initial profile) or flipped (with deleting of the initial profile). After inserting them into the Cross Section Editor, the assembled steel profiles can also be exploded.

Using the AutoCAD mirroring function is not recommended due to the data management in the CDB.

The option ‘Material for filling of hollow sections’ allows to define an infill material for solid hollow sections, e.g. a solid SH profil.

Information regarding assignment of construction stages, please refer to the chapter Construction Stages of Cross Section Parts.

A detailed description of these properties can be found in the chapter ‘PROF - Rolled Steel Shapes’ of the manual AQUA.
