Summary

The command ‘Stress Point’ defines additional output points for normal and shear stresses. The design check for fatigue is only possible with these points. They generate own stress results in the database. A superposition of stresses in these points is possible with the program MAXIMA.

If this command is used to create stress points in the cross section, the automatic determination of stress points during the next calculation is suppressed and only the “user defined stress points” are included in the cross section (see General Properties of Cross Sections).

For a c/t check of a solid cross section two stress points have to be defined with the same name. In this case the effective thickness and the degree of restraint have to be input additionally.

Stress points can be used to define structural line loads with eccentricty for structural line which has a cross section.

A detailed description of these properties can be found in the chapter ‘SPT - Points for Stresses’ of the manual AQUA.

Information regarding assignment of construction stages, please refer to the chapter Construction Stages of Cross Section Parts.
