TOOLTIP Create load distribution areas.
Summary

Load distribution areas convert any free loads that are not applied directly to the structure to be applied to a beam system, e.g. a wind load that is applied to a frame is converted into equivalent beam loads.

The conversion is calculated upon Export of the system. Any created load distribution areas can be viewed within the System Visualisation.

A detailed description of these properties can be found in the chapter ‘LAR – Load Distribution Areas’ of the manual SOFiLOAD.

Load Distribution Area Tab

The load distribution area is assigned its own number which is used by the reference type LAR in the program SOFiLOAD. Each load distribution area can be assigned a depth and loads can be applied to elements in up to three beam groups. The depth value defines a distance in front of and behind the defined area/plane within which loads are to be considered.
