General Information

SOFiSTiK Bridge Modeler was primarily designed to enhance 3D modelling process of infrastructure projects (e.g. bridges) in respect to the BIM concept. Axis-based data input of the structure allows designer to create complex double curved structures with variable cross section. Substructure elements are created using adaptive generic families and connected to the chosen placement. Direct access to data input allows to modify a project dynamically. Shop Drawings tools help in detailing of the structure and further plan creation.

Import SOFiSTiK Model tool extracts the geometry out of SOFiSTiK Database (.cdb) files and creates a 3D model according to the chosen settings. This tool extends the Computed Aided Bridge Design (CABD) workflow of SOFiSTiK software in means of 3D detailing and documentation. CDB files can be created using CADINP programing language in Text Editor (‘Teddy’) task or graphical input in SOFiPLUS module, which is based on AUTOCAD platform.

Compatibility

SOFiSTiK Bridge Modeler works under Revit version 2019 and higher. Import of SOFiSTiK databasis is compatible with *.cdb files with version 2016 and higher.

Prestressing representation in Revit

Imported prestressing data is presented as Freeform Rebar object with assigned rebar type and activated SOFiSTiK_Tendon parameter.

Rebar diameter of tendons is defined as an outer diameter of duct.

Supported elements

SOFiSTiK Model Import tool supports all element types (e.g. beams, columns, cables), which are defined using Structural Lines (SLNs).
