2022-4 Update Release (01.04.2022)

Features

Bug Fixes

  • Multiple analytical Rigid Links ending in single point are now supported. Previously, only the last processed link was established. 185986

2022-3 Update Release (11.02.2022)

Features

Two new types of Design Elements (integration elements for result evaluations and design) are introduced to Revit models:

These Design Elements can be placed freely on any analytical slab resp. wall. They use 3D bounding boxes to define where the Finite Element integration should take place. Existing functionalities of SOFiSTiK Analysis + Design have been extended to support these new elements. Especially:

  • New View Templates to facilitate the modelling of strip elements are provided for 2D and 3D views. These templates get temporarily applied to the active view during a strip command.

  • A new SOFiSTiK Structural Properties tab Design Element allows to adjust properties of the strips.

  • Show Results allows to access and display their analysis results (learn more about Show Results).

  • Strip Design Elements are ready to be used for design in the ssd_small SOFiSTiK Structural Desktop (SSD).

Further new features:

  • Creating Subsystem Views has been improved to account for the new category Design Element.

  • The default analysis Report now provides, when present, an overview of the Design Elements generated in the system.

Bug Fixes

  • Creation of Subsystem Views by Levels previously encountered issues when certain elements from a linked Revit project were visible in the main system view. 197094

2022-2 Update Release (06.12.2021)

Features

  • Improvements of Export to Excel for Supports: Inheritance of the SOFiSTiK_Name attribute from the corresponding load-bearing elements; grid location information has been added. 194307

  • Now, a warning informs the user when the low information quality of a Revit material leads to the mapping of a default SOFiSTiK material.

  • Unnecessary warnings regarding short edges in the model are now repressed (WARN 391).

Bug Fixes

  • Improvement in the cross section mapping of steel profiles, especially in the fields of: geometry detection of profiles, hollow steel profiles, profiles close to standard SOFiSTiK steel profiles. 188066, 194247

  • General improvement of the behaviour when opening the Revit project by drag and drop.

2022-1.1 Update Release (15.10.2021)

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed licensing issue where valid license configurations were not recognized.

2022-1 Update Release (08.10.2021)

Features

  • Beam Design and Column Design now issue a warning when a linear load case used in a combination does not exist in the database.

  • Improvements to Publish Results: The Pack dialog now shows a recent location list across all projects. In addition, a success-message is displayed after the export of the files.

  • The Warning Dialog can now stay open while the model is checked and modified to allow for easier issue resolving.

  • Improvements to Show Results for beams reinforcements to avoid overlapping curves.

  • Adjustments to the License Warning dialog to improve understanding and required steps for license updates.

  • New Dynamo Scripts to export punching results and write design results in Revit parameters.

  • Removed Dynamo Nodes from the Export section to export Member and Support Forces for each Level. The functionality of these nodes is still available with the custom shipped Dynamo scripts.

Bug Fixes

  • Report of Slab Design - Correcting the input for Module RESULTS which prevented printing the tabular overview of members in groups with several slabs.

  • Fixed issue leading to crashing of Revit when scrolling with the mouse in dialogs with long tables.

  • Export to Excel Support Results from Area Boundary Conditions are now filtered out.

2022-0 Release (22.07.2021)

Note

For projects generated with a previous SOFiSTiK major release, the data will be updated.

In such case please check the system and its mappings after upgrade.

After upgrading, projects cannot be opened with a previous major release anymore.

Features

With Design Elements, a new category of element is introduced to Revit models.

A brand new workflow Building Core applies this new type of elements. All existing features of SOFiSTiK Analysis + Design have been extended to support this new workflow. Especially:

The workflow Shear Wall together with the ssd_small SOFiSTiK Structural Desktop (SSD) has been entirely reworked. It provides its best user experience in a continuous BIM environment.

  • The generation of Design Elements for shear walls is now controlled by the new entries in the SOFiSTiK Structural Properties - Wall : Design Element (which can adopt the value Shear Wall) and Cross Section.

Save as Package now replaces the old Import Results. It allows to save SOFiSTiK results from a *.cdb into Revit result packages.

  • The Save as Package dialog allows to save all supported SOFiSTiK results in Revit packages.

  • Full integration of the Save as Package functionality in Show Results.

  • Save as Package is the entry point for the new reinforcement check workflow for walls together with SOFiSTiK Reinforcement Detailing and SOFiSTiK Reinforcement Generation.

Further new features:

  • Subfolder names of SOFiSTiK Analysis + Design working directory no longer contain the name of the Revit project.

  • SOFiSTiK Structural Properties have been split. Each side panel is now dedicated to one specific Revit structural category.

  • The Cross Section Mapping of steel profiles has been reworked to provide better shape and geometry detection.

  • Improvement in the Cross Section Mapping mechanism, now the automatic mapping recognizes and accounts for round openings in sections.

  • In Design Element cross sections rebar placements get assigned names. These names are accessible in the Polygonal Cross Section Dialog for an improved handling of these sections.

  • To be consistent with the revised ssd_small SOFiSTiK Structural Desktop (SSD) seismic analysis workflow and its new backbone technology, the calculation of the center of mass and rigidity now uses the module called FEABENCH.

  • The CADiNP template files of slab design were updated to include changes to the input released with SOFiSTiK FEA 2022.
