Macro to create bridge bearings.

A bridge bearing is a package of spring elements between bridge superstructure and substructure. It allows grouping of the corresponding spring results in so called result sets (RSET), which can be be used for the bridge bearing design in the SSD.

Six springs with predefined values and a fixed structural point are created by using the command bridge bearing. The default springs are three axial and three torsional springs.

To modify the elements use commands Point Link and Structural Point.

Note

Bearings must not have any nonlinearity. Therefore these options are not available for the generation of bearings.

Each bearing must have a result set identifier (RSET ID). Additionaly, a designation can be defined. Both options can be used to identify the result set in the analysis workflow.

Mark a line with an RSET and activate the button Edit RSET. A small dialog with the properties of the marked line is opened. If no line has been marked, the dialog opens without any presetting.

During the Export a set of referenced result values (forces, moments, displacements and/or rotations) is created for each bearing and stored in the CDB. The referenced result values are printed in a table in the generated *.PLB file.

When copying, the identiyfier of the result set is not incremented. This has to be adjusted by hand.

To filter for the resultset, use the option RSET ID in the user defined filter

The local direction of the bearing refers to the coordinate system at the bearing’s start point node. To align the bearing create a structural point at the start point and align this point.
