Service Pack 2020-2

  • Import to SOFiPLUS left locks onto the database (162948).
  • New possibilities in command Assign Group: Group numbers can be given a designation.


This feature requires a new file to be installed. Therefore a proxy message is issued, when opening a drawing from Service Pack 2 in Service Pack 1.

Service Pack 2020-1

  • Improvements in handling with axes and tendons
    • Tendons belonging to one axis can be deleted in one step.
    • Placement rotations with global 0 degrees were interpreted incorrectly.
    • Station values ​​were not transferred correctly to the secondary axis.
    • Missing record when exporting slab tendons (164765).
  • Load case numbers larger than 999 could be exported incorrectly (164588).
  • Improvements in the menu files and the documentation. Restored the command Project Options.
  • Solved problems during import of structural elements (164430).
  • New Command Create Objects along Curve: The SOFiPLUS and AutoCAD elements are distributed along an AutoCAD curve. The number of elements to be generated or a distance between the elements can be defined.
  • SOFiPLUS(-X): corrected installation path for pgp file (165205).

Cooperation With Program SSD

Action Manager in SSD

Actions are now also defined in program SSD. Synchronisation of the entries is analogous to materials and cross sections.


There is a new dialog to define prestressing systems.

In program SSD the task prestressing for slab systems is omitted. Therefore tendons in slabs are now created in loadcase number 700.


CABD Workflow

Geometric Axes


The order of the entries in the axis definition in the sidebar has been adapted to the workflow.

The dialog for the definition of variables shows the placements in the graphical window.

For each placement new variables create a row in the table space.


There are separate commands for definition of tendons with spline geometry and tendons with polygonal geometry.

Before creating a tendon a prestressing system and a loadcase must be defined.

While creating a tendon with the PT Editor span station is used as default.

New option Copy to a different axis... copies the selected tendon geometry and all assigned tendons and projects it to another axis. The second axis must have the same number of placements. It is recommended to use span stations for the definition of tendons. Therefore the copied tendon will be set to the right stations.

PT Editor

Improved handling within the dialog PT Editor.

  • The prestressing system is now on tab tendon geometry
  • The entries on tendon tab are moved (listed by order of importance)
  • Entries without effect have been deleted
  • As far as possible values are taken out of ini files or the boxed values


Some input options are only visible for design codes that also support these inputs. Example: Friction Safety Factor and Effects on Kappa in German design code.



Tendon elements and cross sections for beams on the secondary axis take into account a rotated placement on the main axis.

For tendons the use of span stations is required.

Structural Elements On Axis

Additional option to define structural ares between all placements along the axis.

New Commands


There are three new commands to work with objects between placements:

  • Create Objects between Placements: Command to create elements along an axis. The elements are distributed between two placements to be displayed. The number of elements to be generated or a distance between the elements can be defined.
  • Edit Objects between Placements: Modifies the number of generated elements between the placements.
  • Update Objects between Placements: Distributes the original elements back to the path.

Structural Elements

Structural Line

When assigning springs as a beam hinge, a distinction is now made between springs and implicit beam hinges.

Nonlinear Interface Elements


For structural lines there is a new type on the tab interface elements.

The new type can also be defined between two structural lines (new command Create Nonlinear Interface Element between Lines)

New Command Assign Group


Changes the group number of existing elements. After selecting the desired group, structural elements can be selected in the drawing. The selection of different element types in one step (e.g. structural line and structural area) is allowed.

Modified Default of Visualization Settings


As soon as a mesh exists in the database due to an export, it can be visualized in the drawing. This default is now set to Display Calculation Maodel When Highlighted.



Permitted load types of volume loads are customised to program SOFiLOAD


Auxilary Lines

Cutlines may now have a group number.


Cross Section Editor

When clicking on a point with more than one element while defining dependencies, a menu appears with the selection of existing items.



SOFiPLUS/SOFiPLUS-X 2020 can open DWG files from version 2016. After saving in version 2020, the DWG files cannot be re-opened in the older version!

SOFiPLUS/SOFiPLUS-X 2020 can import projects from version 2018 and 2020 only.

SOFiPLUS/SOFiPLUS-X may have to convert and/or upgrade data when opening a DWG. Any issues, warnings or errors will be displayed in the Messages tab in the sidebar.
